I saw a pretty dog this morning.
One of my favorite moments in A Wizard of Earthsea. It’s a little washed out by the scan/compress I’m afraid… blah.
Serret is screaming at Ged to change shape and run away from the evil stone pterodactyls, there’s a huge storm blowing, his shadow might be out there, and the important thing, the thing that pushes him out of his little dreamy state and off the edge into his crazy angry power surge, is finding his poor little otak’s body. Despite being full of imagery, I feel this scene really speaks to Ged’s character and is something of a defining moment.
If I can find the actual passage I’ll post it up here later.
I had a little scrap of watercolor paper, so I made a bear.
Tiny quick painting! I like birch trees! I have seen many beautiful watercolors of birch trees and I wanted to try it!
Walk to the post office, mail a package to a loved one. Smell of wood smoke, wet leaves, pine. Gentle rain and smooth jazz.
Now if you excuse me I’m going to go and mull some cider.

I did this for my QM professor at the end of last year. He once referred to the many-particle system as “many small swans.” ^^
